As the proud son of a renowned civil contractor, L. Samikannu, my journey in the field of civil engineering started at the young age of nine. My father, who began his career in 1965, was instrumental in developing key areas of Chennai, including Adyar’s Padmanabha Nagar, Kasturibai Nagar, Indiranagar, Saidapet Srinagar Colony, and Anna Nagar. Growing up, I actively participated in these projects, gaining hands-on experience and a passion for civil construction that has stayed with me throughout my life.

Ezumalai Constructions is a family-run business, and I am proud to say that my wife, Mrs. Indira, has been an integral part of our operations since 1999. She manages daily work execution planning and labour management, ensuring each project runs smoothly and meets deadlines. Her dedication and leadership have played a significant role in our success.
Our daughters, Mrs. M. Vijayabharathi and Mrs. B. Svethambari, both civil engineers with expertise in architecture and AUTO CADD, are involved in the planning, design, and preparation of drawings for all our projects. Their modern technical knowledge brings a new level of innovation to our company, blending tradition with cutting-edge engineering practices.
